About this role

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Facilities Manager shall serve The Navigators and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

This position leads the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and improvement of Eagle Lake's physical property. This leader manages and develops the Facilities team. This role must live on-site at Eagle Lake Camps year-round.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Capital Projects & Strategic Leadership (40%)

  • Lead planning and execution of major capital construction and infrastructure initiatives as prioritized by organizational leadership.
  • Manage project budgets, contractors, permitting, timelines, quality control, and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop and execute a long-term facilities strategy aligned with Eagle Lake's ministry vision.
  • Build multi-year capital improvement and deferred maintenance plans.
  • Establish systems that proactively maintain facilities rather than react to failures.
  • Partner with executive leadership to forecast facility needs for future growth.

Team Leadership & Operational Partnership (25%)

  • Lead and develop the Facilities team by coaching and supporting direct reports, clarifying priorities and expectations, creating systems and accountability, building a culture of ownership and stewardship.
  •  Coordinating seasonal maintenance staffing as needed.
  • Partner closely with the Overnight Camp Manager, Day Camps Director, and Director of Operations to ensure facilities support camp operations, guest groups, retreats, summer staffing, and the parent and camper experience.

Property & Asset Stewardship (20%)

  • Oversee maintenance for buildings (Eagle Lake and day camp buildings at Glen Eyrie) grounds, utilities, and roads.
  • Facilitates fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, facilities and maintenance equipment, and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Responsible for ordering of safety and equipment for Eagle Lake Camps.
  • Ensure Eagle Lake's physical assets are safe, attractive, reliable, and well cared for year-round.

Budget & Vendor Management (10%)

  • Manage annual facilities operating budgets and prioritize maintenance and capital expenditures.
  • Manage vendor relationships and obtain competitive bids.
  • Monitor project costs and timelines to ensure responsible stewardship of ministry resources.

Ministry Partner Development (5%)

  • Raise and maintain personal ministry support in accordance with organizational requirements.
  • Steward donor relationships with integrity and consistent communication.
  • Meet annual funding benchmarks toward full personal support.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in Navigators’ on-site learning and development events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings, or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
  • Participate in annual processes, such as the organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR), Engagement Survey, Reaffirmation of the Navigators Code of Conduct, Calling-Core Values-Vision, Statement of Faith, Driver’s Authorization, and other releases as required.
  • Submit time worked on a weekly basis through the Workday Time Tracking system.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Spiritual: Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators. Commitment to Eagle Lake's Purpose, Core Values, and Brand Promise, and willingness to abide by the Eagle Lake Relational Covenant.

Experience:

Required: 3-5 years of facilities, construction, operations, or project management leadership experience. Experience leading capital construction or renovation projects. Experience managing budgets and vendors required.

Preferred: Camp, hospitality, higher education, nonprofit, or ministry experience. Construction management background. Knowledge of building systems and infrastructure. Experience managing preventative maintenance programs. Experience with large-scale property operations.

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong organizational and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead teams. Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Preferred: Experience with heavy machinery, tractors, construction equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and vehicle repair.

Communication & Leadership: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal & written, to create understanding and build strong working relationships required.

Education: HS Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree or college coursework preferred.

Hours: 40 hours a week and on-call

Location: Housing is provided and must live at Eagle Lake Camp year round. Eagle Lake is located in Woodland Park, CO.

Compensation Range: $57,784.00 - $85,676.94 annual (Must raise and maintain personal ministry support in accordance with organizational requirements: 35% of annual compensation).
