Job Summary

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for an Electrician at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. The Electrician performs skilled electrical work on federal, state, or local government construction projects covered by the Davis-Bacon Act. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with project specifications, National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements, safety regulations, and applicable federal labor standards. Employees must maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance while working in a government construction environment.

 

This role is covered by the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA)#EGS

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, fixtures, panels, switchgear, transformers, and related electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and government contract documents.
  • Install EMT, IMC, rigid conduit, cable tray systems, and associated supports.
  • Pull, terminate, test, and label electrical conductors and low-voltage cabling.
  • Install lighting systems, receptacles, controls, generators, and distribution equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic testing on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Use testing equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, circuit tracers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC requirements, OSHA regulations, project specifications, and local codes.
  • Coordinate work activities with project managers, supervisors, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Support coordination efforts with specialty subcontractors performing electrical testing, inspections, and system assessments
  • Support corrective maintenance resulting from electrical system inspections and testing activities
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, inspections, and testing results.
  • Participate in daily jobsite safety meetings and comply with all government security and site access requirements.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Assist with project closeout activities and punch-list completion.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare facilities
  • Qualified as defined by EM-385-1-1
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician license where required by state or local jurisdiction or military journeyman level 5 or higher as documented on DD214.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance or site access credentials.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
