This position assists participants in preparing for, obtaining, and retaining meaningful employment through individualized career planning, employment readiness, job placement, employer engagement, and ongoing support services. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with employers to identify employment opportunities and promote successful participant placements. Notify prospective employers of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit, the fidelity bonding incentive, and any other benefit for hiring participants. Prepare and update a monthly roster of those employers willing to hire participants and provide the roster to DOR (Department of Rehabilitation) upon request. Correspond with the AOR (Agent of Record) prior to placement to ensure there are no limitations of job location and or job types. Provide basic knowledge on how to mentor participants in disclosing appropriate information regarding past convictions and/or parole status to potential employers. Provide participants with basic knowledge of the criminal record expungement process, the benefits of completing the process, and/or the ability to provide information or a referral on how to expunge a criminal record or obtain a Certificate of Rehabilitation. Develop, review, and update Individual Service Plans (ISP) that support participant employment goals and monitor progress throughout program participation. Develop and monitor the participant’s progress relative to their Individual Services Plans (ISP) through all phases of the program and confer regularly with DOR (Department of Rehabilitation) staff concerning program progress and transition planning. Document all progress and all services provided in the participant's case files of employment effort/status. Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Apricot, participant files, internal trackers, and any required grant reporting systems. Prepare and submit required monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports to Amity leadership and DOR representatives as required. Maintain collaborative relationships evidenced by effective communication with Program Director, DOR liaisons, and participants. Provide employment services, including resume writing, mock interviews, time management, how to get along with others in a work environment, and how to follow instructions. Assist participants to become prepared for the workforce and locating and securing employment, educational services, or CTE training. Assist participants in assembling the necessary documents to work within California legally and completing their initial résumé. Provide post placement retention services, coaching, and intervention to assist participants in maintaining long-term employment and reemployment when necessary. Maintain regular communication with DOR counselors, community partners, employers, and internal staff to ensure coordinated participant services. Ensure program compliance with Amity policies and procedures, relevant to federal and state regulations and contract obligations. Coordinate supportive services and community referrals to address barriers to employment. Attend workshops, meetings, and trainings as requested by supervisor. Monitor participant outcomes and ensure grant performance goals and contractual deliverables are achieved. May serve as Community Advocate role in addition to job as requested by community leadership.                Performs other related duties as assigned.   Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Workforce Development, or a related field, OR High school diploma or equivalent AND a minimum of two years of experience providing employment services, workforce development, case management, vocational rehabilitation, job development, or a closely related field.   Preferred: One or more years of experience providing employment or workforce development services. Experience working with justice-involved populations, individuals with disabilities, or other underserved communities. Knowledge of Department of Rehabilitation services and employment programs. Knowledge of California expungement resources and reentry services.   Certifications or Licenses: Required: Must have a valid California driver's license and be eligible for Amity vehicle insurance. Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification AND pass a physical examination and tuberculosis test from a health professional.   Preferred: NONE   Skills/Abilities: Strong case management and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Ability to exercise an amount of empathy and understand the importance of role-reversal. Demonstrates skill in patience, active listening, and interest in diverse life stories.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a genuine enthusiasm for helping people. Ability to build professional relationships with employers, community partners, and participants. Ability to handle mental and emotional stress related to the position.   Work Conditions: Primarily an in-person office environment with regular travel throughout the community to meet with employers, participants, educational partners, and community organizations.   Environmental Conditions: The noise level in the work environment is moderate but can be loud. The temperature in the work environment is usually moderate to cool but can be cold or hot.
