Who we’re looking for 

Toyota’s Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineering – Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support in development and implementation of new model preparation at NAMCs, with this role being at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky.

Reporting to the FAE Manager, the person in this role will support the FAE objective to make Assembly Equipment best-in-industry for Team Member safety, highest quality, and most efficient utilization of automation technology for non-value-added work reduction.


What you’ll be doing

  • Project Planning with Plant Model Change teams and Final Assembly team for upcoming model change

  • Evaluating Model change impact to assembly processes and developing technical equipment change requirements

  • Development of new technologies and vendor base for PE (Production Engineering)

  • Leading equipment projects from concept to launch to Assembly across the NAMCs

  • Close collaboration and relationship building with internal and external groups across Toyota including TMNA Final Assembly Engineering Project Leaders, NAMC’s Pilot team, Logistics, Maintenance, Internal Logistics Engineering regional team, PEPD, and others

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or technical degree or equivalent 3+ years of work experience or 3 Co-op rotations within Automotive Production Engineering

  • Experience in Automotive Production Engineering

  • Training and experience creating equipment technical specifications for vendor execution

  • Vehicle model change experience or a rotation within a vehicle model change

  • Ability to travel up to 20% to all North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs) as well as Japan for TMC sites and equipment makers

  • Ability to work up to 30% overtime when required (including some weekends and holidays)

 
Added bonus if you have

  • Experience in project planning and/or creating project schedules, projecting dates for key inputs/outputs

  • Experience improving safety conditions in team member processes

  • Completion of TBP Panel
