About this role

We are seeking a proactive Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the engineering process relating to Special projects, Engineering Change requests, Configurator upload and maintenance, and Engineering Notice’s in accordance with corporate strategies, objectives and Crown’s best practise.

This role is responsible for the planning and scheduling of work in the department, estimating staffing needs, reviewing progress by organising regular department meetings, establishing priorities for completion, resolving conflicts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of projects.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee and analyse the effects of proposed design from engineering specials, as well as monitor department performance against pre-determined goals and report variances with explanations.
  • Provide technical support to sales by properly assessing and replying to queries towards specifications of Crown Lift Trucks, capacity durations, and Australian Standard requirements.
  • Assess skill requirements for individuals to perform their responsibilities, including the organisation of weekly meetings involving all engineering personnel to discuss project status, issues that require resolution, and Crown Care requirements.
  • Liaise with Crown Engineering in USA, Munich and Korea to obtain Engineering Design and cost approval.
  • Manage Configurator data input in AS400 and provide accurate costing on Special Feature under Configurator.

Skills & Experience

  • High organisational and communication skills
  • High technical knowledge of relevant systems.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Tertiary Degree in Engineering, or at least five years of relevant experience.
