Responsibilities

  • Establish annual Project Manager Business Plan.
  • Develop future business.
  • Establish project objectives:
    • Collaborate with clients and management.
    • Develop project proposals.
  • Engage, mentor, and provide technical project support to field
  • Ability to lead a highly performing client focused
  • Prepare and review technical documents, including wetland and waters of the US (WOTUS) delineation reports; and rare, threatened, and endangered (RTE) species reports.
  • Prepare and review permit applications for wetlands and WOTUS impacts, and RTE species in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.
  • Review field data and review reports for natural resource assessments and RTE.
  • Serve as project manager and technical lead on a variety of natural resource management and renewable energy
  • Write and manage scope, schedule, and fee proposals for new opportunities.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous small and large projects, including maintaining budgets, schedules, quality of service, and subcontractor management.
  • Work closely with Atwell scientists, managers, team leaders and directors in both natural and cultural resources throughout the company to promote Atwell’s business interests in adherence to its mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental/wetland science, biology, ecology, geology, engineering, planning, or related physical sciences discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in leading wetland and RTE species permitting and consulting in the eastern US.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience managing all environmental tasks on DG or utility scale solar and storage development projects in the eastern US.
  • Ability to manage and review complex wetland delineations, function and value assessments, vernal pool surveys, wildlife habitat assessments, and wetland restoration designs, and all associated reporting.
  • Understanding of federal, state and local environmental statutes and
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality written proposals, reports, and verbal presentations at hearings.
  • Experience preparing and obtaining wetland/WOTUS permits for Clean Water Act Section 404/401, RTE species and natural resources rules and
  • Experience conducting environmental investigation studies, including critical issues analysis, desktop due diligence reviews, and constraints mapping.
  • Demonstrated successful client and regulatory agency
  • Experience in other areas of natural resources consulting such as wildlife surveys, botanical surveys, and familiarity with water and soil resources.
  • Ability to travel as needed for projects and meetings.
  • Experience developing project team members, assignment of work to project team members, and the budget and scheduling of projects.
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Environmental consulting for data centers or transmission projects (preferred)
  • Experience permitting CPCN projects, particularly in Maryland (preferred)
  • GIS data analysis and mapping (preferred)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
