About the Role

We are seeking an experienced LV/HV EV Project Manager with a strong background in Distribution Network Operator (DNO) projects to lead the delivery of Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure and grid connection projects across low and high voltage networks.

This is a key role within our Energy & Infrastructure division, responsible for end-to-end project delivery — from design and planning through to commissioning and handover — ensuring compliance with DNO standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of LV/HV EV infrastructure projects, including design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Act as the main interface between the client, DNOs, ICPs, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee DNO contestable and non-contestable works, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and technical standards.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risk, and resource allocation to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Prepare and review project documentation — RAMS, method statements, permits, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Support grid connection applications, design reviews, and technical submissions to DNOs.
  • Ensure all works comply with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) policies and CDM regulations.
  • Provide technical leadership to engineers and site teams, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Liaise with procurement, design, and commercial teams to manage contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Report project performance and KPIs to senior management and clients.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven track record managing LV and HV electrical infrastructure projects (up to 33kV preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience working with or for a DNO or Independent Connection Provider (ICP).
  • Strong understanding of DNO/IDNO standards, grid connection processes, and ENA requirements.
  • Experience delivering EV charging, renewable, or grid connection projects.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and relevant HV authorisations (e.g., SAP/Competent Person) advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, or MS Project for planning and design review.
  • Knowledge of ICP accreditation process and contestable works.
  • Exposure to battery storage, solar PV, or decarbonisation projects.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness.

Key Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
