We are seeking a Facilities Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our San Jose facility. In this role, you will maintain building systems, support manufacturing and office operations, coordinate with external contractors, and help ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment. You will also support facilities engineering projects and preventive maintenance activities across the site.

You will work onsite in San Jose, CA and support our facilities team. This role participates in an on-call rotation for facility emergencies and may occasionally require evening, weekend, or holiday work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly facility inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair activities
  • Ensure manufacturing equipment installation requirements, including electrical, plumbing, and ventilation, are completed prior to installation
  • Coordinate, escort, and oversee contractors and service vendors while onsite
  • Perform general facility maintenance including housekeeping, waste removal, seasonal support, painting, patching, office moves, and installation of shelving and equipment
  • Support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives and maintain compliance with applicable safety standards
  • Own small facilities improvement projects and support larger capital and infrastructure projects
  • Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, utilities, laboratories, and facility equipment
  • Conduct routine facility rounds to verify proper operation of building systems and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support shipping and receiving activities as needed
  • Troubleshoot facility systems and support root cause investigations for equipment and utility failures
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to respond to facility emergencies

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related technical field
  • Experience maintaining commercial or industrial building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and utilities
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations
  • Experience performing rough plumbing using ProPress copper tools
  • Experience performing rough electrical grounding work
  • Strong understanding of facility maintenance practices, operating procedures, and safety requirements
  • Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting facility equipment
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as UpKeep, IBM Maximo, or 360Facility
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting operational objectives
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to climb ladders and safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, dollies, and forklifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a skilled trade such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, controls, or pipefitting
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, laboratory, or industrial facilities
  • Experience supporting facilities engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
