About this role

ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field HVAC Technician  to join our team. The Field HVAC Tech. will support daily operations of HVAC systems across multiple retail and restaurant facilities within a two-hour radius of Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on light maintenance, troubleshooting, and reporting of rooftop HVAC units (RTUs). Technicians will inspect systems, perform preventive maintenance, and communicate findings to contractors for major repairs. No overnight travel is required. Compensation: $36 - $38 Hourly The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Ideal Candidates: Ideal candidates will possess a positive, can-do attitude and understand the importance of building strong client partnerships through excellent communication. We are looking for someone who adapts quickly to change and can provide win-win solutions for both the client and ABM. Essential Functions: ·       Inspect and maintain rooftop HVAC units at client sites (e.g., fast food restaurants, convenience stores). ·       Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing filters, cleaning coils, and clearing drains. ·       Troubleshoot HVAC issues and report findings to contractors for resolution. ·       Test system operation and record temperature readings. ·       Manage on-site contractor repairs and verify post-repair functionality. ·       Submit and close work orders as necessary. ·       Comply with ABM and client policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements: ·       Minimum 3 years of HVAC experience, with at least 2 years in commercial or light commercial environments. ·       Valid state-issued driver’s license and clean driving record. ·       Universal EPA 608 Certification (CFC Universal). ·       Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations. ·       Strong organizational and communication skills. ·       Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Technical Skills Required: ·       Proficient in HVAC system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. ·       Basic electrical system knowledge for maintenance and repair. ·       Ability to coordinate with contractors and operational teams for efficient service delivery.
