Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic and analytically-minded Finance & Controlling Trainee to join our dynamic team in Weert, Netherlands. In this trainee role, you'll gain comprehensive exposure to financial management, controlling, and business analysis while working alongside experienced professionals. You'll participate in meaningful projects that directly impact our organization's financial health and strategic direction, all while receiving structured mentorship and support to accelerate your professional development.

  • Collaborate with the Finance & Controlling team on diverse projects, including new product line development, financial tracking, and margin analysis
  • Support the monitoring and financial analysis of customer projects, identifying risks and opportunities for optimization
  • Assist in developing and implementing internal control measures to strengthen financial governance
  • Participate in monthly financial reporting and analysis to ensure the organization maintains financial visibility and performance targets
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, procurement, production, project management, engineering, and human resources departments to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the continuous enhancement of financial operations
  • Engage with international colleagues to support global financial coordination and reporting
  • Conduct financial analysis on cost implications, process improvements, and return on investment for organizational initiatives
  • Support the plant controller in maintaining accurate financial records and documentation

Qualifications

  • Completed HBO or Master's degree in Business Economics, Controlling, Finance, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of professional work experience, with demonstrated initiative and leadership in previous roles
  • Practical experience in finance or controlling through internships, part-time positions, or relevant academic projects
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial software; willingness to learn additional tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and organized approach to managing multiple priorities
  • Pragmatic mindset with the ability to think critically and solve complex financial problems
  • Self-aware and reflective, with the capacity to receive feedback and continuously improve
  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude with a winner's mentality and drive to achieve results
