Job Description

Compensation:  $16.40 - $20.00 an hour

Shift Available: 1st and 3rd Shifts

Position Summary:  Assist Shift Supervisor and Lead(s) with coordinating the daily work activities of packers to ensure that we are making quality product in a safe, efficient manner.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

• Work safely at all times, consistently following company safety policies and wearing required PPE.
• Maintain situational awareness on the production floor and notify a Supervisor or Manager immediately of safety concerns.
• Keep all production work areas clean and organized.
• Provide assistance to production packers assigned to faster, high volume or more complicated injection molding machines.
• Be familiar with packaging specifications and ensure that packers are following the specifications.
• Train new packers how to pack and how to identify quality defects in product and packaging materials.
• Relieve packers in assigned work area for breaks and at shift change, as needed.
• Make boxes/trays, label boxes and pack product as needed.
• Complete daily Floor Person Checklists.
• Escalate quality, machine or performance issues promptly to a Lead or a Supervisor to minimize defects and production downtime.
• Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management.
• Other tasks as needed or as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of a manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal) and operate a computer in order to perform necessary documentation.
• This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing up and down stairs and lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working in a typical manufacturing environment with seasonal heat/cold and sound related to machine operation as well as maintenance and facility repair activities.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the task at hand.
