Overview

LMI is seeking a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Transparency (PCLT) Specialist to support our team within the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW, A&S) office. Communication with the organization’s senior-level staff and collaboration with a broad range of personnel is required. The position will be located at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage public requests. Oversee Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
  • Accept, record, and triage incoming FOIA requests from WHS.
  • Determine the A&S component(s) with best equity to respond to the FOIA request.
  • Assign the FOIA request and provide guidance, through the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS), to equitable A&S component(s).
  • Track FOIA case progress.
  • Check and ensure component’s response for supportability under the FOIA and A&S policies.
  • Prepare final FOIA response for A&S client signature and case closure.
  • Act as liaison between WHS and A&S component Action Officers (AO’s).
  • Provide FOIA training and specific guidance to A&S component AO’s.
  • Keep track of FOIA metrics via CATMS reports.
  • Ensure compliance. Review systems for privacy and civil liberties impact.
  • Review, draft, and coordinate PIAs and System of Records Notices (SORNs) for DoW information systems to ensure compliance with the Privacy Act and DoD directives.
  • Support the intake, tracking, and reporting of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) breaches to the Defense Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Transparency Division within mandated timelines.
  • Compile, analyze, and draft contributions for the Civil Liberties Semi-Annual Report and other statutory privacy reports.
  • Develop internal policy. Update civil liberties guidelines regularly.
  • Give clear oral and written explanations of assigned tasks, relevant issues, analytic approach, and results.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned for office environment.

Qualifications

  • Clearance: Top Secret/SCI.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years supporting a federal government customer.
  • Familiarity with DoW FOIA and PCLT policies and practices is desired.
  • Executive level support experience, experience within DoD and other federal agencies.
  • Must have experience in managing customer expectations and working directly with customers.
  • Must have outstanding customer service skills including initiative, judgement, creativity, flexibility, and confidence.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task across multiple tasks.

Target salary range: $115,000-$120,000
