Forwarding Officer I | Malaysia | Full Time

The Business Unit Supply in Vanderlande is responsible for procuring and supplying all goods and services we need to execute our 270+ concurrent projects. Also, we supply goods and services needed to enable our internal organization. For this, we work closely together with our internal stakeholders to meet business demands while leveraging synergies over the more than 1 Bln Euro spend we have with 7000+ suppliers.

For the supply activities, we are organized in three strong regional Supply Chain Centers in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America respectively. Our regional setup ensures we are close to our (internal) customers and supply bases in the regions. Each Supply Chain Centre (SCC) is responsible for successful supply, on time and complete, of Vanderlande equipment, 3rd party equipment and services towards our projects in the region and globally to leverage cost levels and economies of scale. The three supply chain centers work closely with our central procurement organization that is also part of the Business Unit Supply

 As the forwarding officer who will based in Malaysia or China, you will be responsible for day to day activities, administrative handling of all shipments and operations within the Department of AP Contract & routing and forwarding. Your role will be focused on strengthening our position in APAC and reporting to China Shanghai office.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily shipping operations and documents/certification preparation

• On-time handover of the export documents to the internal and external customer

• Follows-up shipments and informs project teams and the site manager on the status

• Sets-up and maintains the suppliers’ declarations, in consultation with the Engineer, to determine the source of origin of our final product.

• Work with suppliers to make sure shipments are delivered complete and on time

• System operation on inbound and outbound and ensure the 0 stock when goods cross stocked

• Identify the classification of HS code for new product and review the HS code for regular products, make sure the customs compliance and clearance accuracy

• Supporting and advising the group companies in all customs, origin and export control issues on a national and international level

• Responsible for facilitating and optimizing the customs clearance, shipping process, Identify the Customs, shipping related cost and follow up the shipping company and customs broker performance

• Make sure suppliers’ delivery in consistent with Vanderlande’s requirements and process including packing, loading and shipping

• Importing documents preparation where necessary in APAC projects

• Coordinate with other internal teams to support all business needed

• Other tasks assigned by manager

Qualifications

• University degree or above

• At least 5 years’ import and export experience and customs procedure at similar position within a multinational company

• Experience in HS classification, Customs, CIQ for both import & export in SEA country preferred in Malaysia

• Experience in Customs compliance for different countries in APAC as well as the required certification like Form E, embassy certification, etc.

• Strong communication skills with government such as Customs and tax bureau, showing flexibility and teamwork

• Will to work and report remotely

• Advanced office software skills like word, excel, PPT

• Advanced WMS system operation

• Business language level on both English and Mandarin

• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suit and preferably ERP (JD Edwards, SAP)
