Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Front-End Software Developer to join a growing technology team focused on delivering innovative digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining modern web applications, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable, user-centric solutions.

While the primary focus of this role is front-end development, the successful candidate will also contribute to API integration and full-stack development activities where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain responsive web applications that deliver seamless and engaging user experiences.
  • Collaborate with designers, product teams and business stakeholders to implement intuitive and accessible user interfaces.
  • Develop clean, maintainable and efficient code using modern web technologies and frameworks.
  • Integrate web applications with RESTful APIs and third-party services.
  • Contribute to both front-end and back-end development activities where required.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing solutions to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, QA and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and functional specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, optimise and enhance existing applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including setup guides, application documentation and API specifications.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Professional software development experience with a focus on web technologies.
  • Experience building and deploying modern web applications in a commercial environment.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Exposure to the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and deployment.

Technical Skills

Essential

  • Strong proficiency in:

    • HTML5
    • CSS3
    • JavaScript
    • TypeScript
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as:

    • React
    • Next.js
    • Angular
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js and Express.
  • Comfortable contributing across the full stack when required.
  • Experience using Git and collaborative source control workflows.
  • Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working with Azure or similar cloud technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience integrating third-party services and applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development or a related discipline.
  • Agile, Scrum, DevOps or Cloud certifications are advantageous but not essential.
