Job Description

Eurofins are currently seeking a General Operative on our site in Dungarvan. The main responsibilities of this role are to support the EHS & Facilities team in maintaining Eurofins BPT Buildings 1 and 2, together with the associated grounds, utilities, support areas and building safety systems. This role provides practical operational support to ensure site buildings and campus facilities are maintained in a safe, efficient, quality-focused, and professional manner, remaining clean, organised and audit-ready at all times.

Please note, this is a full time role and the working hours are 39 hours per week. You will be required to work 9:30am-5:45pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 9:30am-6:00pm on Wednesdays. 1 week out of 4 you will be required to work an additional Saturday. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Assist the EHS, Facilities Maintenance and Housekeeping teams with material, equipment and furniture moves across the site as required. 
  • Be available, by prior arrangement, to support building emergencies and occasional call-outs, including alarms or site-related incidents. 
  • Support in-house preventative maintenance activities and general maintenance tasks in line with training and site procedures. 
  • Maintain the overall upkeep and appearance of buildings and support areas, including minor repairs such as ceiling tiles, plaster repairs and painting and other Help Desk activities where trained and authorised. 
  • Be the point of contact for site water systems (general consumable, alarm response and PM vendor management)
  • Ensure plant rooms, stores and facilities support areas are kept clean, tidy, secure and audit-ready at all times. 
  • Support site security arrangements by ensuring access systems, plant rooms, outbuildings and stores are managed securely and locked when not in use. 
  • Support pest control activities in line with company procedures and facilitate approved vendor visits as required. 
  • Support the onsite Electrical safety and firefighting equipment inspection/PM
  • Act as a point of contact for approved external grounds activities and support the upkeep of car parks, utilities areas and general external grounds. 
  • Complete assigned safety checks following training, including visual gas compound checks, external spill kit checks and emergency shower checks. 
  • Support site health, safety, and compliance activities, including participation in relevant internal training and assessment processes such as manual handling, workstation/DSE assessments, and other role-related safety requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve facilities operations and support the development and implementation of continuous improvement action plans.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with company standards for safety, quality, housekeeping, GMP and site procedures. 
  • Complete cleaning and sanitisation activities as and when required to support operational needs.
  • Active participation in the following site teams: Fire Warden, Spill Response, and Waste Management.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a GMP production, laboratory, facilities or regulated site environment is desirable. 
  • Previous experience in a facilities, general operative, maintenance support or site services role is desirable. 
  • Full, clean driving license is essential; forklift license or equivalent materials-handling training is an advantage. 
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site presentation. 
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and take ownership of assigned tasks. 
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external vendors. 
  • Reliable, flexible and willing to support changing business and site requirements.
