About this role

St. John's College High School seeks an enthusiastic and dependable Assistant Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach to support our varsity volleyball program for the Fall 2026 season.

The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to provide a positive, competitive, and development-focused experience for our student-athletes while promoting the mission and values of St. John's College High School.

Position Details

  • Position: Assistant Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach
  • Season: August 2026 – December 2026
  • Reports To: Head Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach 
  • Stipend position

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a coach is instructing student-athletes in the fundamentals of volleyball while creating and/or sustaining a positive and healthy environment for student-athletes to thrive. 
Reporting to the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Coordinate and manage all aspects of position/positions assignment as directed by the Head Coach.
Performs planning, organization and execution for coaching duties as described and assigned by the Head Coach for all meetings, practice sessions and competitions.
Assist in the development of a game plan for student-athletes versus opponents.
Attend all staff meetings as scheduled by the Head Coach.
Responsible for supervision, instruction and direction of student-athletes as assigned by the Head Coach.
Support, abide, and enforce all academic and disciplinary guidelines and policies of St. John's College High School, the athletic department and the volleyball program.


Qualifications

  • Previous volleyball coaching and/or competitive playing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of St. John's College High School.
  • Must successfully complete all required background screening and employment requirements.
