Why we're hiring:

We are hiring an Accountant Analyst to support core general accounting and reporting activities within our Finance Shared Services environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, strong controls, and timely month-end close, while supporting continuous improvement and collaboration across Finance teams.

This position is also part of our Finance Transformation journey, where standardisation, automation and AI-enabled tools are becoming increasingly important to improve productivity, documentation quality, reporting accuracy and the way finance teams deliver value to the business.

 

What you'll be doing:

Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in line with defined timelines.

Ensure accurate and timely posting of accounting entries in the ERP system.

Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and escalating exceptions when required.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and audit standards.

Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for internal and external audits.

Support financial reporting and variance analysis, identifying unusual transactions or trends.

Liaise with other Finance functions (PTP, OTC, Treasury, Tax) to resolve accounting issues.

Follow standard operating procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Support the adoption of automation, digital finance tools and AI-enabled ways of working under supervision, ensuring outputs are reviewed, validated and aligned with control requirements.

Support ad-hoc accounting, reporting and transformation requests as required.

What you'll need:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Previous experience in an accounting or RTR role within a Shared Services or corporate environment (preferred).

Experience supporting external audits by preparing and providing financial information, with a good understanding of statutory accounts and annual reporting requirements.

Experience or exposure to intercompany reconciliations.

Solid understanding of accounting principles, with exposure to Spanish GAAP and IFRS (including IFRS 16).

Knowledge of Italian GAAP (OIC) and exposure to statutory/accounting requirements for Italian entities is desirable.

Knowledge or exposure to Belgian GAAP (BE GAAP) and Dutch GAAP / Dutch Financial Reporting Standards (NL GAAP) is highly desirable.

Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, BC Media, Maconomy, or similar).

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and willingness to work with digital finance, automation and AI-enabled tools.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

Clear and professional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Ability to work under supervision, follow detailed SOPs and operate within review cycles.

Fluency in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus such as Italian.
