Job Description:
The Global Sales and Operations Director- APAC is responsible for leading and executing strategic sales, marketing, and business development initiatives across the APAC region for the Hard Rock Hotel portfolio. This role drives revenue generation, market share, and commercial performance through integrated regional sales leadership and global account management across MICE, Corporate Transient, Consortia, Luxury Leisure, and Entertainment-related business segments throughout all properties.
Responsibilities:
BUSINESS RESULTS
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans targeting MICE, Corporate Transient, Consortia, Luxury Travel Advisors and Key Account segments within their assigned region.
• Achieve or exceed set individual and team revenue goals that support attainment of company targets.
• Identify, solicit and secure transient and group business opportunities that support hotel occupancy, ADR growth and revenue targets.
• Generate revenue and brand awareness through attendance of key industry tradeshows/events and sales initiatives.
• Communicate with corporate leadership on forward thinking strategies and review regional performance/achievements on a monthly basis.
• Analyze market trends, production data and competitive intelligence to refine sales strategies and optimize performance.
• Partner with corporate marketing and digital teams to implement brand campaigns tailored for regional market needs.
LEADERSHIP & EXECUTION
• Generate leads and assist on-property sales teams in closing both group and transient opportunities, ensuring alignment with brand strategies and revenue objectives.
• Actively prospect and maintain relationships with corporate travel managers, travel management companies, luxury travel advisors, consortium partners and incentive houses.
• Prepare and manage an annual budget for travel and client engagement activities.
• Ensure high visibility of Hard Rock Hotel at regional events, sales calls, luxury travel networks and industry functions.
• Ensure brand and business initiatives are implemented.
• Collaborate with internal and external business partners including hotel sales teams, revenue management, marketing and distribution teams.
• Communicate issues and concerns at all levels of the organization.
• Coordinate all aspects of trade show participation including MICE focused and transient travel network events.
• Communicate with relevant leadership team regarding issues, risk and liability concerns, or other important business matters.
• Coordinate and participate in different events and activities, including but not limited to sales blitzes, road shows, expositions, fairs, familiarization trips, webinars, and site inspections.
• Manage and produce regional Hard Rock Hotel branded Customer Events as well as provide support for Corporate driven customer initiatives.
GUEST ENGAGEMENT
• Grow relationships at the appropriate levels, both internally and externally, enables the development and advancement of sales initiatives.
• Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
• Gather first-hand guest or client information and use it for improvements in products and services.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients.
• Resolve client and guest complaints and implement change to prevent future issues.
• Promote the organization within and outside of the industry and at relevant trade associations.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
• Meet regularly with regional and property-level sales teams to review production, opportunities and challenges.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership and revenue teams to maximize both group and transient production from the region.
• Meet weekly with team members to review sales activities, achievements and any challenges.
• Direct and lead activities through internal and external resources.
LEARNING & APPLYING EXPERTISE
• Leverage market knowledge, sales analytics, and industry relationships to make strategic business decisions.
• Utilize technology such as Delphi to manage accounts and measure success.
• Stay informed on trends within MICE, Corporate travel, luxury leisure and transient distribution channels.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ATTRIBUTES & TRAVEL)
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an Area or Regional Director of Sales for a brand or hotel within the MICE & Transient sales segments.
• Degree/diploma in Hospitality Management or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides knowledge, skill, and ability to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Deep understanding of luxury/lifestyle hotels, special events.
• Travel throughout respective region/territory for client solicitation, meetings and/or presentations required.
• Travel to key local, regional and/or global industry trade shows required.
• Must be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Based in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, allowing access to key feeder markets.
SKILLS (LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL, TECHNICAL & REASONING)
• Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy and work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
• Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Multiple language abilities preferred; fluency in English required.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
• Perform complex quantitative calculations or reasoning using algebra, geometry, statistics, or abstract symbols.
• Use logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations.
• Excellent computer skills including Delphi and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel).
