Responsibilities

Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA-I) Responsibilities

As a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA-I) at Lorien Mount Airy, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, resident-centered care that enhances comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life. Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing and licensed nursing staff, you will provide hands-on support and meaningful daily interactions that help residents feel valued, respected, and cared for.The ideal candidate is caring, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional service while supporting residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being.In this role, you will:
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Support mobility, transfers, ambulation, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Monitor residents and promptly report changes in condition to the nursing team.
  • Assist with meals, hydration, and nutritional needs.
  • Promote resident dignity, independence, safety, and overall well-being.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and resident care records.
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
  • Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality care.
 

 

Qualifications

 

Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 25–50 pounds as part of daily job responsibilities, with or without reasonable accomodation.
