About this role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Grinding Booth Operator is responsible for product received from the demold station and for providing the assembly team finished fiberglass parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:    

  • Performs process that requires decks be shear cut, flipped and drilled for customer component installations.   

  • Performs cutting on consoles and all box openings final ground to customer specifications.   

  • Performs shear cut on hulls and have the appropriate plumbing components installed.   

  • Performs priming on hulls according to customer specifications.   

  • Performs sealing of foam applications with fiberglass.   

  • Inspects all hulls to make sure they are free of burrs.   

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Basic understanding of grinder, function, and ability to adjust per requirement

  • Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously

  • Ability to read and write instructions

  • Ability to wear and pass a respirator test

  • Have no fiberglass allergies

  • Climbing- use of both arms and legs

  • Dust

  • Fumes, smoke, or gasses

  • Solvents (degreasing agents)

  • Slippery or uneven walking surfaces

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
