As the Fitness Manager at Wave Health & Fitness, you are responsible for maintaining high standards across Personal Training and Group Exercise programs while supporting daily operations. Schedule RequirementsÂ
The Fitness Manager of Fitness will be required to work a varied schedule depending on business volume.Â

Due to the cyclical nature of hospitality, flexibility is required to meet business needs. Participation in “all hands” events may be necessary.Â

Responsibilities
Program ManagementÂ
- Oversee all fitness programs, including:Â Â
- Group exerciseÂ
- Personal trainingÂ
- Nutrition counselingÂ
- Additional wellness offeringsÂ
- Maintain group exercise schedules, ensuring all classes are properly staffed and coveredÂ
Team Leadership & DevelopmentÂ
- Supervise fitness and group exercise instructors to ensure high-quality service deliveryÂ
- Conduct monthly personal training development workshopsÂ
- Lead quarterly personal training client reviewsÂ
Operations & AdministrationÂ
- Process instructor payments accurately and on timeÂ
- Assist with daily operational needs of the fitness centerÂ
- Ensure exercise rooms and equipment are clean, functional, and well-maintainedÂ
Program Development & Revenue GrowthÂ
- Develop and implement fitness workshops and fee-based programsÂ
- Promote personal training, group exercise, nutrition, and other servicesÂ
Marketing & EngagementÂ
- Create, manage and partner with Director of Communications on social media content (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) to promote services, programs, and eventsÂ
Culture & Service ExcellenceÂ
- Uphold and promote the organization’s Vision, Mission, and ValuesÂ
Foster a positive, member-focused environment that enhances overall experienceÂ
Pool ManagementÂ
- Understand pool management and maintenance, inclusive of all health and safety codes.
Qualifications
Required Job Knowledge and SkillsÂ
- Previous supervisory and/or fitness experience and training in the health and/or fitness fields.Â
- The ability to lead by example and to set and monitor standards.Â
- Healthy, fitness-minded, knowledgeable, and confident with the fitness and wellness environments. Â
- Certified Personal Trainer requiredÂ
- Strong organizational skills, basic computer experience and the ability to multi-task.Â
- General health club operations experience helpful.Â

In addition to the essential duties, the Fitness Manager may be required to perform other supportive functions as assigned. The allocation of time for these responsibilities will be determined by the Director of Operations based on the needs of the business.Â

Experience:Â
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the fitness industryÂ
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership roleÂ
Â
Education:Â
- High School diploma, general education degree equivalent experience required  CertificationsÂ
- Nationally recognized Personal Training Certification (e.g., ACE, ACSM, NASM) requiredÂ
- Group Exercise Certification preferredÂ
- Certified Pool Operator® CertificationÂ
