About this role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Host-Cashier is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere while efficiently managing seating. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates a welcoming atmosphere and greets guests with a friendly and   professional demeaner.
  • Manage waitlists or reservations and seating assignments to ensure a smooth service flow.
  • Provide menus and be informative to guests.
  • Communicate with servers and management regarding table availability and guest needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the host stand and entrance area.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Degree:  High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certificate(s) or License(s): None
  • Years of experience:  0

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Multitasking & organization to manage reservations, waitlists and seating flow.
  • Problem-solving to handle guest concerns, special requests, and unexpected issues with ease.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly walks, and stands.

Occasionally does computer work.

Seldom/Never sits or lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
