About the Role

At Boston Pizza Milton, we're looking for friendly, energetic, and Guest-focused Hosts and Hostesses who enjoy working with people and thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

As a Host / Hostess, you'll be the first and often the last point of contact for our Guests. You'll welcome Guests with a genuine smile, manage the flow of the dining room, assist with seating, and communicate with Servers and Management to help create a smooth and enjoyable Guest experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

As a Host / Hostess, you will:

  • Welcome every Guest warmly and create a positive first impression.
  • Greet Guests promptly and professionally when they enter the restaurant.
  • Manage the Guest waitlist and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
  • Escort Guests to their tables and provide menus when appropriate.
  • Monitor the dining room and ensure Guests are being attended to.
  • Check in with Guests waiting for a table and communicate updates as needed.
  • Thank Guests as they leave and ensure they leave with a positive impression.
  • Recognize and respond to Guest needs throughout their visit.
  • Handle Guest questions and concerns professionally and involve Management when appropriate.

Restaurant Flow & Organization

  • Manage the seating flow to support efficient restaurant operations.
  • Communicate with Servers and Management regarding table availability and Guest needs.
  • Monitor table status and help ensure tables are properly reset and ready for the next Guests.
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming Host stand.
  • Keep menus, promotional materials, and Host area supplies organized and stocked.
  • Assist the Front of House team during busy service periods.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe dining environment.

Communication & Teamwork

  • Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, Kitchen staff, Expo, and Management.
  • Work closely with the Front of House team to ensure smooth Guest flow.
  • Communicate Guest requests, special occasions, seating preferences, and other relevant information to the appropriate team members.
  • Support teammates during busy periods and contribute wherever needed.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Lead by example and contribute to a fun and safe workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Previous Host / Hostess or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
  • Previous Boston Pizza experience or familiarity with Boston Pizza menu items and brand standards is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain organized and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand and move around the restaurant for extended periods.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • A positive attitude and genuine commitment to Guest satisfaction.
