Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre construction program in Edmonton, Alberta. Reporting to project leadership, you will lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the project while driving a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with regulatory and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement project HSE programs, policies, and procedures.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and visible leadership.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety assessments.
- Monitor contractor HSE performance and ensure timely resolution of corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Review risk assessments, safe work plans, and environmental management plans.
- Track and report HSE performance metrics, trends, and key project indicators.
- Provide expert HSE guidance to project leadership, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Construction, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional designation such as CRSP, CHSC, CSP, or NCSO preferred.
- 8+ years of HSE experience within large-scale construction projects.
- Experience supporting data centres, industrial, commercial, or mission-critical projects is considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta health and safety regulations.
- Experience managing contractor safety programs and conducting incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

The base salary range for this full-time role is $60,000 - $85,000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
