Role Overview: This role will provide design, estimating, tendering, and heat load calculation support for commercial HVAC projects. You will work directly with the business manager to prepare accurate quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, tender submissions, and mechanical load calculations.

This role will begin on a full-time basis. You must be comfortable working independently to tight deadlines, with a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of Australian HVAC systems and commercial construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Send Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Follow up and consolidate subcontractor pricing into the overall estimate
  • Assist with preparation of cover letters and tender submission documents

Variation Tracking

  • Log all variations raised during a project against the original scope of works
  • Maintain a variation register and assist in preparing variation claims for client submission
  • Track approval status of variations and flag outstanding items to the project team

Heat Load Calculations and duct sizing

  • Perform HVAC heat load calculations for commercial spaces using industry-standard software
  • Prepare room-by-room and system-level load summaries for design review
  • Assist with equipment selection based on calculated loads and required minimum flow rates
  • Ensure calculations align with relevant Australian standards including AS 1668 and NCC Volume 1

General Support
