Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IBP Lead to join the UK DePuy Synthes business at a pivotal time in our evolution as a more focused, standalone orthopaedics company. This role will play a critical part in connecting commercial ambition, customer need, inventory discipline and supply chain execution — helping ensure the right products, instruments and investment are available where they are needed most.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

In this role, you will lead investment and supply planning for the Spine, Robotics & Power Tools business, translating commercial strategy into robust demand signals, capital plans and inventory decisions. You will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Regional Supply Chain and Global Planning teams to balance growth, service, inventory and cost — supporting customer outcomes while strengthening business performance. The role requires curiosity, pace, commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge how we work today.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Partner with Commercial, Finance and Supply Chain leaders to ensure capital expenditure and inventory decisions support growth priorities, customer commitments and financial targets.

  • Act as a trusted business partner to the Commercial organisation, ensuring customer and commercial investment needs are planned, prioritised and delivered through the end-to-end supply chain.
  • undefined
  • Optimise consignment stock levels through deployment planning, supporting inventory reduction, improved utilisation and service reliability.
  • undefined
  • Manage the consignment order book proactively, identifying supply gaps early and working with the International Deployment Group to expedite, unblock and resolve issues.

  • Drive effective use of consignment sets available in Loaners, UK Kit Build and regional hubs, with particular focus on under-utilised assets.
  • undefined
  • Lead IBP alignment meetings for the business units in scope, creating clear visibility of demand, risks, trade-offs and decisions required with Business Unit Directors and their teams.
