Job Description

SGS are currently looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Inspections Coordinator to join our Perth team on a casual basis.

This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and coordination skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while supporting inspection and agricultural testing services.

Reporting to the Operations Team, you will play a key role in coordinating inspections, managing documentation, supporting laboratory operations, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities include, however not limited to:

  • Coordinate inspection activities to meet customer expectations and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratory for testing.
  • Monitor turnaround times and ensure customer certificates are issued within agreed timeframes.
  • Prepare accurate reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain SGS systems, including BOSS, SIR, job registers, inventory registers, and sample registers.
  • Conduct grain testing in accordance with local and international standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, inspectors, laboratories, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and turnaround times.
  • Identify opportunities to expand SGS services and support business growth.
  • Develop an understanding of GAFTA trading rules and ISO 17020 requirements

Qualifications

The success candidate will have the following:

  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Understanding of agricultural supply chains, particularly grain handling and logistics.
  • Previous experience in export and import documentation or customs-related environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Previous client relationship management experience.
  • Experience with quality assurance and safety management systems.
  • Knowledge of grain inspection, testing processes, GAFTA trading rules, or ISO 17020 requirements.
