Our busy, patient-focused Mohs surgery and dermatology practice is looking for a detail-oriented Instrument Sterilization Technician who takes pride in precision, organization, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety. What You'll Do

As our Instrument Sterilization Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, organized, and ready for patient procedures. Your work directly supports our surgical team and helps provide outstanding care to every patient who walks through our doors.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments according to established protocols.
  • Operate and monitor autoclaves and other sterilization equipment.
  • Perform biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring to ensure sterilization standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate sterilization logs and documentation.
  • Prepare surgical trays for Mohs procedures and dermatologic surgeries.
  • Monitor instrument inventory and communicate supply needs.
  • Inspect instruments for wear or damage and coordinate repairs or replacements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterilization area.
  • Follow OSHA, CDC, infection prevention, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with room turnover and support the clinical team as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in sterile processing, central sterilization, surgical services, dermatology, or a medical office preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and sterilization principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to quality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift instrument trays and supplies as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sterile Processing certification (CRCST or equivalent) is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in dermatology, Mohs surgery, plastic surgery, or an outpatient surgical setting.
