SUMMARY

Q2 is seeking an ambitious and adaptable Software Developer with strong hands-on experience in team-based development and data-driven systems. In this role, you will actively contribute to the design, development, implementation, and support of custom software solutions across the Q2 platform. You will work across front-end, back-end, and data-centric components, integrating with internal systems, external services, and intelligent automation solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise in modern software engineering, data pipelines, and AI/ML-enabled solutions, while collaborating closely with peers in a fast-paced, Agile environment to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement, integrate, and test software solutions of moderate complexity across the Q2 platform.
  • Develop and maintain both backend services and data processing workflows, including ETL pipelines.
  • Deliver reliable solutions in live production systems, working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Support and maintain custom features, including debugging, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis, with occasional on-call availability.
  • Apply strong debugging skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production and data issues.
  • Ensure adherence to security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies.
  • Contribute to data analysis and model-driven features, including exploratory data analysis (EDA) and ML integration.
  • Collaborate on AI-powered and agent-based solutions, leveraging modern LLM frameworks and tooling.
  • Assist and mentor teammates by sharing best practices, conducting code reviews, and providing technical guidance.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Solid experience in web/tool development and backend service development.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and modern AI workflows.
  • Understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC) and service-oriented/microservices architectures.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Occasional availability for on-call/emergency support; ability to work flexible

Additional / Preferred Skills

  • ETL fundamentals and experience building or maintaining data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Python ML and data libraries, including:
    • NumPy
    • Pandas
    • Scikit-learn
    • XGBoost
  • Experience performing Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to derive insights and support data-driven features.
  • Working knowledge of Machine Learning concepts and model lifecycle integration.
  • Exposure to or experience with Agentic AI architectures, MCP tools, and AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Understanding of secure, scalable, and production-ready AI/ML system design.
