Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sibiu, offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract. Remote work is not available for this role.

• The Junior AI Software Developer has the task to design, develop, and integrate AI-driven software solutions according to all relevant architectural guidelines and departmental standards, acting under the guidance of Senior Developers and the Technical Lead.
• The developer plays an essential supporting role in the deployment of modern AI initiatives, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications and agentic workflows.
• The Junior SW Developer works in close cooperation with all relevant local technical teams, data engineers, as well as manufacturing process owners.
• Participates regularly in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups) and occasionally in regional technical workshops organized by the central departments.
• Supports all related local digital transformation projects in order to ensure AI implementations meet performance, scalability, and security conformity.
• In the event of system bugs, performance bottlenecks (such as database query problems), or integration failures, the developer must investigate, document, and escalate accordingly to relevant senior staff.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor/Student of Science in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Relevant studies, practical academic projects, or foundational certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or modern software development.

Competencies:

• Software Development Fundamentals: Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), clean code principles, and version control (e.g., Git).
• AI & Programming Proficiency: Good programming skills in Python. Familiarity with AI integration frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., LangGraph, Langflow, or similar agentic architectures).
• Architecture & Data Integration: Basic knowledge of enterprise software architecture. Understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) and building efficient data pipelines or API integrations (experience with Model Context Protocol or similar data servers is a strong plus).
• Problem Solving & Optimization: Analytical mindset with foundational skills in debugging, unit testing, and basic SQL query optimization.
• Methodologies: Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development procedures.
