About the Role

mpathic is seeking an IT Specialist to support our internal technology infrastructure and help ensure employees have a secure, reliable, and productive work environment. This role will provide day-to-day IT support, administer core business systems, assist with security and compliance initiatives, and help maintain our growing technology environment.

What You'll Do

IT Operations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and SaaS application issues.
  • Provision, configure, deploy, and maintain laptops and other company equipment.
  • Manage inventory of IT assets, accessories, and office technology.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding by preparing equipment, provisioning accounts, and ensuring timely access changes.
  • Maintain documentation for IT processes, systems, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Coordinate hardware repairs, replacements, and vendor support as needed.

Identity & Access Management

  • Administer user accounts across business applications, including Google Workspace, Slack, Okta (or equivalent), and other SaaS platforms.
  • Execute user provisioning and deprovisioning following least-privilege access principles.
  • Assist with periodic access reviews and permission audits.
  • Support MFA, password management, and endpoint security initiatives.

Security & Compliance

  • Assist with SOC 2 and other compliance activities by collecting evidence, maintaining documentation, and tracking action items.
  • Help maintain security policies, procedures, and asset inventories.
  • Monitor endpoint security tools and assist with vulnerability remediation.
  • Support security awareness initiatives and employee training.
  • Escalate security incidents and assist with incident response activities.

Systems Administration

  • Support administration of endpoint management (MDM), device policies, and software deployment.
  • Assist with maintaining SaaS applications, integrations, and licensing.
  • Monitor system health and resolve operational issues.
  • Recommend improvements to increase security, reliability, and efficiency.

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Senior IT & Security Lead on infrastructure projects and security initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, HR, and Finance to support business needs.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for hardware, software, and managed IT services.


About You

  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or IT operations.
  • Experience supporting macOS environments.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management concepts and SaaS administration.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, or similar productivity platforms.
  • Exposure to endpoint management tools such as Kandji, Jamf, Intune, or similar MDM solutions.
  • Basic understanding of security best practices including MFA, endpoint security, device encryption, and least-privilege access.
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Eager to learn and grow into broader IT security and compliance responsibilities.


Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or other compliance programs.
  • Familiarity with Okta, Google Workspace Admin, JumpCloud, Kandji, Jamf, CrowdStrike, or similar platforms.
  • Experience writing scripts or automating repetitive IT tasks (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Experience supporting cloud-first organizations.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Google Workspace Administrator, or equivalent
