About this role

We are currently recruiting for an IT Specialist IIĀ with 3-5 years of tier II technical support in a law firm or professional services environment. This is a permanent and full-time position, hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. JOB FUNCTION

TheĀ IT Specialist IIĀ is a highly technical,Ā hands-onĀ role responsible for supporting,Ā maintaining, andĀ optimizingĀ the firm’s core infrastructure, cloud services, business applications, and endĀ user systems. Working as a TierĀ 2 escalation point within the IT team, this position resolves complex technical issues, manages critical systems such as Azure, Windows Server, Azure Virtual Desktop, andĀ document management applications,Ā and ensures reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations across the firm.Ā This role collaborates with thirdĀ party vendors for TierĀ 3 escalations, supports smallĀ scale technical projects, and contributes to continuous improvement of IT services, ensuring stability and performance in aĀ fast-pacedĀ legal environment.Ā 



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides tier 2Ā support for the IT services team,Ā troubleshooting advanced issues across cloud, server, networking, and endpoint environments.Ā 
  • DeterminesĀ when issues require TierĀ 3 vendor escalation and coordinatesĀ resolution withĀ third party support.Ā Ā 
  • Manages systems such as Azure Portal, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows Server, etc.Ā 
  • Plans, manages,Ā and executes onĀ small ITĀ projects or components of overarching IT projects, with support from the Senior Manager, IT Services.Ā 
  • Provides high quality resolution and consistent support of standard processes by following documented work instructions and ways of working guidelines.Ā 
  • Ensures data accuracy and integrity with all transactions,Ā communicationsĀ and stakeholder support.Ā 
  • MaintainsĀ documentation, standard operating procedures, and system configurations.Ā

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

Administrator and Troubleshooting experience include, but not limited to:Ā 

  • Azure Portal (Entra, Intune, Exchange,Ā etc)Ā 
  • Azure Virtual Desktop (Image creation, updates, deployment, and support/troubleshooting)Ā 
  • Windows Server Management (Group Policies, role management, server configuration, and support/troubleshooting)Ā 
  • Windows Server Networking (Shares, Permissions, performance management, WAN/LAN configuration, and support/troubleshooting)Ā 
  • Business Applications:Ā 
  • Productivity Apps (Microsoft 365 Office Suite)Ā 
  • Accounting Software (Elite, Aderant,Ā Acumin, or similar)Ā 
  • Document Management System (NetDocuments, iManage, or similar)Ā 
  • Cloud-based Applications (DocuSign, Clio, or similar)Ā 
  • VoIP Systems (configuration and support)Ā 
  • Hardware SystemsĀ 
  • Videoconferencing Systems (Teams Room and Zoom Room Administration & Support)Ā 
  • Server Room Equipment (Switches, Firewalls,Ā etc)Ā 
  • Enterprise Printer Management (Print Server, Scanners,Ā etc)Ā 
  • Vendor CollaborationĀ 
  • Contacting and working with systems vendors to resolve issuesĀ 
  • Industry-standard CertificatesĀ 
  • Relevant Microsoft CertificatesĀ 
  • Relevant Platform-specific CertificatesĀ 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 2Ā yearsĀ inĀ a Tier 2/Level 2 role.Ā 
  • Experience inĀ a law firm or professional services environmentĀ is stronglyĀ preferred.Ā 
  • Diploma orĀ bachelor's degree in information technology, ComputerĀ ScienceĀ or a related fieldĀ 
  • System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL,Ā Comp TIA Network+ or CCNA,Ā or other relevant fields.Ā
