Why this role is important to us

The candidate will be joining to the Investment Solution Group team under Investment Technology Services in State Street Investment Management. As part of Investment Solution Group, the candidate would be involved in the development of next gen deliverables of multi asset class portfolio construction application and modernization including cloud migration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain PROSE application components, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability enabling future scalability and growth in the multi asset class business solutions
  • Hands-on development of UI using reactjs, developing services using java and spring framework technologies
  • Lead problem-solving efforts for complex technical challenges, directing resolution of advanced design, performance, and integration issues across major project phases
  • Own the end-to-end deliverable of functional and non functional features in the system
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Technical Architects and internal team to translate complex requirements into high-quality, low-latency, and sustainable software solutions
  • Develop, test, and implement production-grade software using Java, cloud-native technologies, Reactjs, and emerging capabilities such as GenAI, while maintaining a strong hands-on development role
  • Provide informed technical guidance through code and design reviews, offering critical analysis of proposed changes to ensure alignment with architectural standards and performance expectations
  • Ensure high-quality software delivery by writing and reviewing unit, integration, and automated tests, with a focus on performance, resilience, and maintainability
  • Continuously improve testing practices and frameworks, identifying opportunities to strengthen automation, coverage, and development efficiency
  • Actively contribute to and help lead the agile delivery process, including participation in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives, while promoting continuous improvement in engineering practices.

 Preferred qualifications and education

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with deep expertise in object-oriented design, design patterns, SOLID principles, and industry best practices
  • Strong proficiency in Java, with experience building scalable, high‑performance, multi‑tier applications
  • Proven experience designing, building, and deploying distributed systems and scalable microservices, Spring Boot application
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Front-end development experience using modern web technologies, including React, Node.js, HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript, and JSON
  • Good knowledge in relational (SQL/RDBMS) data stores
  • Strong understanding of and experience across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from design through deployment and production support
  • Ability to analyze complex business and technical problems and lead the design and delivery of robust, high-performance software solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI concepts, with the ability to practically apply AI‑enabled tools (e.g., Copilot or similar) to improve productivity, decision‑making, and delivery outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams; known for a positive, proactive, and can‑do attitude
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services domain including front office applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field
