Job Description
lastminute.com is looking for an Accountant for its Accountancy team based in India.
The person, reporting to the Indian Finance Manager, will contribute to the accounting closing of the different local Indian entities and will oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying the financial transactions but will also have the opportunity to support the accounting teams who manage the other entities of the Group from the HQ based in Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting entries and maintain accurate books of accounts in the ERP system
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, journal entries, debit/credit notes, and petty cash transactions
- Perform bank, vendor, customer, and ledger reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and support cash flow reporting
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities
- Verify vendor invoices, purchase orders, GST details, and TDS applicability before processing payments
- Ensure timely statutory compliance including GST, TDS, PF/ESI, Professional Tax, ROC, and audit requirements
- Support GST return filing, reconciliations, and compliance follow-ups
- Handle TDS deductions, payments, remittance, return coordination, and certificate support
- Liaise with the Finance Manager to improve financial procedures
- Coordinate with auditors, vendors, and internal stakeholders on finance and compliance matters
- Assist on GST refunds, including the generation of EBRC copies.
- Filing/coordination on monthly Non STPI and other RBI related returns.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics
- 3–4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit
- Strong knowledge of accounting entries, reconciliations, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance
- Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines, multiple tasks, and maintain high accuracy
- Ability to work in a team and to communicate at all levels of the organization and with colleagues of other Countries
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, frequently under time pressure
- Cross-cultural sensitivity, self-motivated and used to working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP
- Interest in using AI tools to improve accounting processes
- Experience in one of the big4 audit firms will be considered a plus
