About the Opportunity

The Labor Relations Manager plays a critical role in supporting this commitment by partnering with leaders, employees, the union, and external stakeholders to promote compliance, trust, and long-term workforce stability.This role leads labor relations strategy in Mexico, ensuring alignment with the Ley Federal del Trabajo (LFT) while supporting the unique needs of seasonal and year-round employees.
Responsibilities
- Build and sustain strong relationship with the union, partner with Director of Industrial Relations, Americas to lead collective bargaining negotiations, administering collective bargaining agreements, and supporting union legitimation and CFCRL processes with transparency and respect.
- Ensure labor law compliance with the Ley Federal del Trabajo (LFT) and related labor regulations translating legal requirements into practical guidance for leaders and embedding compliant practices across all Driscoll’s operations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to operations, people leaders and HRBP’s, providing guidance on employee relations matters, workforce changes, and the labor implications of operational and organizational decisions.
- Act as the primary point of contact with Legal Affairs for the Speak Up channel in Mexico, coaching the team and leading complex, high‑risk employee relations investigations. Document investigation outcomes and provide well‑reasoned recommendations for action.
- Represent the company before labor authorities and oversee labor disputes and litigation in partnership with Legal.
- Support workforce stability and business continuity, identifying labor relations risks early and driving practical, solution-oriented approaches that protect operational performance.
- Partner cross‑functionally to support Driscoll’s operations, working closely with HRBP’s, Operations, Safety/EHS, etc. to ensure consistent, compliant, and people‑centered labor practices across all sites.
- Remain closely connected to managers and key stakeholders, maintaining a visible and hands‑on presence that strengthens credibility, relationships, and practical problem‑solving.
- Use data, trends, and insights to continuously improve labor relations, sharing learnings with leadership and strengthening labor practices across the organization.
- Lead and develop a team of Employee Relations partners, providing direction, coaching, and oversight to ensure consistent, fair, and high‑quality employee relations support across operations.
- Lead and coordinate STPS audits related to working conditions and training, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and compliance
- Manage and maintain the company’s authorization before the National Institute of Immigration to employ foreign nationals; serve as the primary point of contact for federal audits and collaborate with Global Mobility to support all requirements for foreign employees in Mexico and Mexican expatriates abroad
Represent the company before labor authorities in coordination with Legal, including direct involvement in labor litigation involving Growers where Driscoll’s is named as joint responsible party - Administer, update, and ensure compliance with the Internal Work Regulations (RIT), maintaining alignment with current labor laws and company policies
- Communicate, align, and coordinate labor strategy with the business regarding changes to the Federal Labor Law and related labor reforms, ensuring effective implementation across all internal regulations, policies, and documentation to maintain legal compliance
- Act as Driscoll’s Legal Labor Representative, representing the company in all labor and employment-related legal matters
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or related field required
- 7–10+ years of progressive labor relations experience in Mexico
- Advanced training or specialization in Mexican Labor Law required
- Proven experience leading union negotiations and managing CBAs, ideally in agriculture, agribusiness, manufacturing, or other labor-intensive environments
- Experience supporting seasonal and geographically distributed workforces
- Diploma or Certification in Mexican Labor Law (LFT)
- Employment Investigations or Employee Relations Certification
- Change Management experience (a plus)
- Intermediate English
- Minimum 3–5 years of direct people management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting, analysis, and leadership updates
