Job Description

Position starts at $23.19 per hour.

Harsco Environmental is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Laborer to support daily operations at our industrial plant site. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment, assisting with material handling activities, operating off-road haul trucks and other mobile equipment, and performing general labor duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork in a heavy industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain plant grounds, roadways, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform housekeeping activities, including sweeping, shoveling, debris removal, and general site cleanup.
• Operate off-road haul trucks and other mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with loading, transporting, and dumping materials throughout the facility.
• Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Operate backhoe equipment as assigned and qualified.
• Follow traffic patterns, site rules, and all safety procedures while operating equipment.
• Assist operators, mechanics, and other team members with operational and maintenance activities.
• Support environmental compliance initiatives by maintaining clean work areas and controlling spills or waste as directed.
• Perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and industrial environments.
• Complete all required safety training and participate in safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred

• Experience operating off-road haul trucks, loaders, backhoes, or other heavy equipment.
• Previous experience in industrial, construction, mining, steel mill, or environmental services operations.
• Basic understanding of equipment inspections and preventive maintenance practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and other required gear.
