Lead, Assembly

POSITION PURPOSE

Describe the general nature, level (degree of freedom) and purpose of having the job at Zurn Elkay.

As a Lead – Assembly you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of a group of employees. You will assign, monitor and review progress and accuracy of work, direct efforts and provide technical guidance on more complex issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares work schedules, assigns works, and oversees the work product
  • Reviews work orders, production specifications, technical instructions, facility requirements, tool requisition, equipment, and supplies for section.
  • Reviews and compile operations records, such as yield, scrap, and maintenance costs

SCOPE

  • Reports to a supervisor or manager
  • Maintains production schedules and quality of work to a limited extent
  • “Lead and Direct” a group of two or more individuals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

List the minimum required education, experience, certification, training, and/or technical skills to perform the job.

  • 3+ years of assembly/manufacturing experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND BEHAVIORS

  • Must be knowledgeable in D365, AX and other systems.
  • Ability to use tools to make or repair parts and products.
  • Interpret technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions such as standard work.
  • Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Work in a team environment with other members of a line or group to assemble products.
  • Meet all safety requirements of the company and industry.
  • Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand continuously for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Flexibility with work hours for overtime as scheduled
