Lead Developer (Team Lead)

We're a small company building multi-platform content-filtering software, and we're looking for a Lead Developer to lead our development team. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll lead a small, AI-focused team while staying deep in the code yourself — taking big-picture projects from the CTO and turning them into clear tasks for your team, keeping everyone unblocked, and jumping into any part of the work when it's needed.

There's plenty of room to grow here, in both seniority and salary. We're looking for the right person to become part of the core team of our small, growing company.

What you'll do:

• Lead the development team day to day — plan the work, assign tasks, and keep the team delivering
• Take big-picture projects and direction from the CTO and break them into clear, actionable tasks for your team
• Stay hands-on in the code — jump into any project that's going on and take on the hardest parts yourself
• Be the person who can unblock anyone on the team and get things moving again
• Manage the team while keeping the quality bar high and helping people grow
• Build and work on AI features alongside your team

Nice to have — experience with our stack or similar technologies:

• TypeScript
• React
• React Native
• Go
• Swift / iOS development
• PizzaPy
• AI infrastructure and model deployment

• Strong across the full stack, with the ability to jump into any part of a project and contribute right away
• Proven experience leading a development team — someone the team can look up to and respect
• Able to both manage a team and get your hands dirty in the code
• Comfortable taking big-picture direction and turning it into clear tasks for others
• Excellent English, both written and spoken
• Comfortable working from and leading the team in our office
• Ready to grow with a small company and take on more over time

Compensation: from $3,000 USD/month, commensurate with experience — with plenty of room to grow in both seniority and salary.

Full-time, on-site role in Addis Ababa.
