Responsibilities

Serves as lead person in representing the Hospital in financial matters pertaining to obtaining payment on patient accounts during pre-admission and inpatient phases of the patient's visit.  Requires heavy phone work and personal contact with patients, family members, insurance companies, physician office staff, and outside financial assistance agencies.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

  • High School Diploma OR GED with two (2) years of experience in collections
  •  OR

       Associate's Degree in Business or related field and one (1) year of experience in collections.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 30 wpm or better.   
  • Prior experience in healthcare environment.
  • PREFERRED

     

  • S. degree in Business or Health Administration.
  • Three (3) or more year’s collection experience.
  • CPAR Certified.
  • CFC Certified.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to train and direct the work of others.
  •  

    Work Hours:

    6:00AM-2:30PM

    Weekend Requirements:

    Yes- Rotating Basis
