Key Responsibilities
API & Backend Development
- Design, build, scale, and maintain high-performance REST APIs and backend microservices using Python and FastAPI.
- Implement asynchronous workflows, robust data models, and scalable API integrations to interface with network infrastructure.
- Oversee code quality, establish engineering best practices, and conduct comprehensive code reviews to ensure reliability and maintainability.
Network Automation & Workflow Orchestration
- Design and build scalable, resilient network automation workflows using tools such as Netmiko, Nornir, and Ansible.
- Modernize manual network operations by automating provisioning, configuration management, and compliance checks.
- Integrate network automation tooling into continuous delivery pipelines to streamline deployment workflows.
Network Operations & Troubleshooting
- Apply deep networking fundamentals to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across enterprise and data center networks.
- Interface with and manage configurations for routing, switching, firewalls, and core network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
DevOps, CI/CD & Testing
- Implement and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to modernize deployment lifecycles and operational workflows.
- Drive automated testing suites to validate both network orchestration scripts and API endpoints prior to production deployment.
- Containerize services using Docker to support seamless local and production environments.
Technical Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor engineering team members on network programmability, API development, and automation standards.
- Translate operational and infrastructure requirements into production-ready software solutions.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with Python.
- Strong expertise in building high-performance RESTful APIs using FastAPI and modern asynchronous programming.
- Extensive hands-on experience with network automation frameworks and libraries, specifically Netmiko, Nornir, and Ansible.
- Deep networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing & switching, BGP, OSPF, and firewalls.
- Proven track record of replacing manual infrastructure operations with automated workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong proficiency with Git version control, collaborative development, and automated testing frameworks.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience containerizing services using Docker and orchestrating multi-service environments.
- Exposure to enterprise network management systems, ITSM tooling (e.g., ServiceNow), and change management lifecycles.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture or message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience with dependency management (Poetry) and pre-commit code formatting hooks.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to bridge software engineering and network operations.

Qualifications
