About this role

Overview

Are you a practical, creative Learning and Development Advisor who’s ready to shape learning that helps people do their best work? This role gives you the space to own the full learning cycle and create training that’s useful, engaging and easy to apply.

We’re looking for a Learning and Development Advisor to join our People & Culture team at Walker Morris. You’ll design and deliver tailored learning solutions for our legal and business services teams, helping colleagues build confidence, develop their careers and make learning part of everyday working life.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across the firm to understand what they need and turn that insight into engaging, practical learning solutions. A key part of the role is managing and developing the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring learning content is easy to access, relevant and up to date. It’s a hands-on role with real ownership, from identifying learning needs and curating content to coordinating blended learning solutions across the firm.

As the Learning and Development Advisor, you will:

  • Design and deliver soft skills training for colleagues across the firm.
  • Consult with stakeholders to identify learning needs and align solutions with business goals.
  • Advise on learning programmes for trainee solicitors and solicitor apprentices, ensuring the sessions effectively support their development plan.
  • Coach and support colleagues to enhance performance and retention.
  • Manage the full learning cycle, including admin tasks like enrolments, tracking completions, and reporting.
  • Develop and Oversee the LMS (Learning Management System), ensuring content is up-to-date, accessible, and effectively managed.
  • Provide day-to-day learning administration support, including LMS content updates, managing relevant inboxes and keeping training records accurate.
  • Support the planning and delivery of team-building days that bring colleagues together and strengthen how teams work.
  • Support firm-wide initiatives, events, and compliance training in collaboration with Risk & Compliance.

We are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a Learning and Development role, ideally within professional services or a corporate setting.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience designing and delivering learning in various formats (in-person, virtual, digital).
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience with LMS administration is essential.
  • The passion to drive self-serve learning culture initiatives within the firm, making learning easier to access, more intuitive to use and part of everyday working life.
  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to contribute where support is needed across our small, dynamic team.

Some of our benefits include:

  • Salary reflective of your experience, circa. £28,000 - £33,000.
  • Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme.
  • Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
  • Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we'll contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary.
  • 4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
  • Hybrid working with 40-60% of your time spent in the office.
