Why we need you


We are seeking a proactive and business-minded Legal Specialist to join the Legal Team at Omise. In this role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the legal and regulatory integrity of our operations while enabling innovation and growth across all jurisdictions where we operate. You will work closely with internal teams, regulators, and external counsel to develop practical, commercially sound legal solutions that support strategic business objectives. This position is well-suited for a mid-level legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about fintech, payments, and emerging technologies.


What you will be doing


    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including Merchant Service Agreements (MSAs), with both local and international counterparties
    • Advising and providing legal support on employment and labor law matters in partnership with People Operations and external counsel
    • Managing litigation and dispute resolution efforts in coordination with outside legal firms
    • Engaging with regulators and government agencies (e.g. DBD, MOC, BOT) to manage licensing, registration, and ongoing compliance requirements
    • Supporting corporate governance processes, including shareholder and board meetings, company secretary matters, and corporate filings
    • Assisting in M&A and investment transactions by reviewing documentation, supporting due diligence, transaction document review and managing closing processes
    • Conducting legal research and monitoring changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices relevant to Omise’s business
    • Supporting the Legal Team in designing scalable legal frameworks and internal workflows that meet commercial and compliance needs

     

    You


    • 5-7 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal team at a multinational organization, including 3-5 years may be sufficient with relevant experience in fintech or payment services
    • LL.M. in Business Law, Corporate Law, or Banking & Finance is a strong advantage
    • In-depth knowledge of commercial, employment, and financial services law, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, particularly those applicable to electronic payments, financial services, and/or software platforms.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities
    • Collaborative communicator with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders across diverse teams
      Excellent project and time management skills; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    • Fluent in Thai and English (both written and spoken); Japanese proficiency is an advantage
    • Excellent critical thinking skills and a business-enabler mindset, with the ability to operate under ambiguity


    Nice to Have


    • Experience working with or advising regulators such as the Bank of Thailand (BOT)
    • Exposure to startup or high-growth company environments
    • Familiarity with cross-border business and legal issues in the Southeast Asia region
    • Japanese proficiency is an advantage
