The Team

Cundall’s Lighting Team delivers award-winning innovative design solutions which have over recent years been described as game changers in several sectors within the industry. 

Our lighting designers support all the Cundall office projects globally in addition to working on independent lighting projects. With a progressively increasing project base there is a need for additional skills within the APAC Lighting team. 

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Lighting Designer to join the team in our new Kuala Lumpur office. You will be part of our elite Cundall APAC Lighting Team and assist the team in delivering local and regional projects in addition to supporting the global lighting team. 

Cundall lighting design team’s approach is to challenge the perception of what is good quality lighting design, and we use every project to advance our clients and the public’s understanding of light and it’s many benefits. You will be expected to push the boundaries both creatively and technically to deliver outstanding and award-winning lighting designs. Our projects are across a variety of sectors including hospitality, workplace, retail, public realm, historic and lighting installations.  

The role will allow your development to managing projects from the creative concept stage through the technical delivery stage and onto site.

The Skills

Ideally accredited to Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design with at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with a creative flair and an enthusiasm for creative lighting design. 

You should have an appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions and be IT literate. A software knowledge of AutoCAD, AGI32, DIALux, DIALux EVO, REVIT, ADOBE Suite including Photoshop and RHINO preferred but not essential.  

You are a confident and credible relationship builder and know what it takes to manage and exceed client expectations (both internally and externally). You also have a portfolio demonstrating concept design sketches, photoshop renders, 3D designs skills, lighting calculations and detail design drawing production.
