Client isΒ seeking a skilled Machine Builder responsible for assembling, testing, and supporting the build of custom automation equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience reading mechanical drawings, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Job Description

  • Assemble equipment according to mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Document and communicate changes, issues, and problems throughout the build process.
  • Complete assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision.
  • Follow and execute ISO quality standards and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with the Machine Build Lead regarding project status, open issues, and progress.
  • Support successful execution of assigned programs related to cost, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist with preparing materials for secondary processes, including material finishing, heat treating, and deburring.
  • Safely and effectively operate equipment including:
    • Mill
    • Lathe
    • Drill
    • Press
    • Surface Grinder
    • Saws
    • Shears
    • Other related shop equipment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Related vocational education preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Intermediate ability to read and interpret part and assembly drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including:
    • Bending
    • Kneeling
    • Climbing ladders
    • Working on, under, and around machinery
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
  • Ability to obtain the following certifications while employed at JR Automation:
    • Hi-Lo/Forklift license
    • Aerial Platform license
    • Overhead Crane license
    • Lock Out/Tag Out training
  • Must provide personal hand tools and a toolbox appropriate for the position (recommended tool list will be provided).
  • Proficiency with skills outlined in Module 1.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time, including potential domestic and international travel depending on project requirements.
