About this role

Position Summary :

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer Ensures maximum operational uptime and reliability of plant electrical equipment, automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs), and power distribution infrastructure. Leads electrical troubleshooting, automation programming/modifications, and preventive electrical maintenance to support uninterrupted seasonal production.

Job Description :

• Program, troubleshoot, backup, and optimize PLC logic (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and HMI interfaces.

• Diagnose faults in VFDs, servo drives, field sensors, control loops, and industrial communications (Profinet, Modbus). 

• Calibrate and maintain specialized line automation components, including scales , X-ray inspection systems, metal detectors, and checkweighers. 

• Carry out scheduled preventive electrical maintenance tasks on production and packaging lines to reduce unplanned downtime.

• Respond to electrical breakdowns promptly, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and executing necessary repairs on control circuits and power lines.

• Document all electrical interventions, parameter adjustments, and fault logs accurately in the CMMS.

• Ensure high-speed production lines, packaging machinery, and key processing systems are fully operational during high-demand months.

Prioritize electrical troubleshooting based on production schedules and line urgency.

• Coordinate closely with production and quality teams for planned electrical modifications and power shutdowns.

• Monitor and maintain high-to-low voltage distribution networks, main distribution panels (MDBs), motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, and UPS systems.

• Oversee electrical systems for utilities, including air compressors, cooling units, chillers, AHUs, pumps, and emergency generators.

• Ensure all electrical utility equipment operates within safe operating limits, proper load balancing, and high-power factor efficiency.

•Strictly apply Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), arc-flash protocols, PPE requirements, and electrical safety standards during maintenance work.

• Maintain food-grade electrical standards, including IP-rated enclosures, proper cable trunking, hygienic panel sealing, and clean sensor installations.

• Report and escalate electrical safety hazards or unsafe wiring conditions promptly.

• Monitor critical electrical and automation spare parts consumption (PLCs, VFDs, servo motors, fuses, relays, sensors) and raise replenishment requests.

• Contribute to cost control by optimizing spare usage, identifying reliable alternative components, and maintaining software licenses.

• Identify recurring electrical or automation faults and engineer permanent solutions to boost reliability.

• Participate in root cause analysis, engineering modifications, and control panel rewiring projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation/Control Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Additional certificates in maintenance systems (e.g., TPM, CMMS, PLC basics) are considered a plus
  • 3–5 years of hands-on industrial electrical and automation experience in food processing, FMCG, or automated sorting facilities. Demonstrable experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and power panels.
  • ·Proven experience with maintenance of conveyors, Production lines, X-ray, AHUs, Cooling units, sorters, metal detectors, mixers, chocolate production line , baking systems, and packaging lines.
  • Working knowledge of utilities such as compressors, chillers, pumps, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with food safety requirements (e.g., hygiene design, equipment sanitation) in maintenance work is a must.
