About this role
To lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure reactive and preventative technical support is provided efficiently and effectively to achieve production targets and customer deliveries.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising a small team of Maintenance Technicians on a 2-shift rotor
- Safely managing risk assessments and COSHH for maintenance team.
- 2nd Escalation call for equipment breakdowns.
- Ensuring all maintenance activity is carried out in a safe, timely manner to a high standard.
- Ensuring there is sufficient maintenance cover for production hours and overtime hours where necessary.
- Managing external contractors on site including all relevant documentation
- Providing technical support to achieve production output standards.
- Planning and executing pro-active preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
- Working from mechanical, schematics drawings to assist with fault finding.
- Advising on technical issues, liaising with engineers and the production team as well as supporting continuous improvement activities
- Monitoring machine performance
Any other duties as required.
Skills and experience required:
- Qualified to 18th Edition level or equivalent, with a good knowledge of fault finding and repair in electrical and mechanical.
- Previous experience leading a team.
- Proven previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as robotics
- IT literate and able to navigate systems easily.
- Organised and initiative-taking with a safety awareness of electrical, compressed air and pressurised systems.
- A flexible approach to work and the desire to thrive in a dynamic and exciting fast-moving environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Initiative-taking with the determination to succeed.
- UK driving license and be available to support visits to supplier sites.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in an automotive environment
- Experience of working within IATF16949 quality system environment
