About the Role

The Asset Care Planner plays a key role in improving asset reliability and supporting effective maintenance execution. This position is responsible for developing maintenance work plans, coordinating resources and materials, managing maintenance backlogs, supporting outage planning, and driving continuous improvement within the site's asset care program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate detailed maintenance work plans, job packages, and schedules.
  • Ensure labour, materials, tools, contractors, and vendor support are available for maintenance activities.
  • Conduct field assessments and incorporate safety requirements into work plans.
  • Manage maintenance backlogs and support weekly maintenance scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and equipment data in SAP.
  • Support preventive, predictive, and reliability-focused maintenance programs.
  • Participate in outage planning and execution activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, planning accuracy, and asset reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, tradespeople, contractors, and leadership teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a maintenance, manufacturing, or skilled trade's environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical proficiency and ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with maintenance planning, shutdowns, reliability improvement, and leadership is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
