We want you as a talented MAIT Additive Manufacturing Engineer to help us in our mission by contributing significantly to Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology, development and in-house production for our Vehicles Nyx Earth and Nyx Moon.

The ideal candidate will play a key role as an Application Engineer, working on the development and qualification of additive manufacturing (AM) processes, including the definition of print parameters for new materials. This role will also involve supporting the certification of AM components to comply with high industry standards, including NASA regulations. .

Role Overview

As an MAIT Additive Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in the development, qualification, and industrialization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) technologies for critical aerospace hardware.

You will support the full lifecycle of aerospace hardware, from manufacturability assessment and process development through qualification, certification, and production readiness. Working closely with Design Engineering, Materials & Processes, Quality, Testing, and Manufacturing teams, you will contribute to the delivery of flight-ready components across TEC's propulsion and space systems programs.

This is a technically demanding role with direct impact on flight hardware development, manufacturing capability, and future production scalability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own the manufacturing and qualification of mission-critical flight hardware.

  • Develop, optimize, and qualify LPBF processes for a range of high-performance alloys.

  • Define and manage material characterization campaigns, support test execution, and analyze the resulting data.

  • Take over build preparation, LPBF process simulation, and process monitoring data analysis.

  • Execute qualification and certification activities for AM hardware in accordance with aerospace requirements and internal quality processes.

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and drive continuous improvement in process capability, quality, productivity, and inspection methodologies.

  • Author technical documentation and collaborate with internal teams, external suppliers, laboratories, and certification bodies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

  • Hands-on experience with metal LPBF systems in an industrial environment.

  • Experience in LPBF process development, material and part verification.

  • Knowledge in material characterization methodologies, including the selection and interpretation of material property and mechanical testing data.

  • Proficiency in CAD for part design modification, LPBF build design, and support generation. Experience with Siemens NX and PLM tools such as Teamcenter is a plus.

  • Strong communication, analytical problem-solving, and effective collaboration across multidisciplinary and international teams.

  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in LPBF process and hardware qualification for complex aerospace propulsion systems.

  • Strong understanding of DFAM principles, LPBF process physics and parameters.

  • Familiarity with aerospace materials such as nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, copper alloys, as well as stainless steels. Refractory alloys is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience in machine operation, material characterization, including metallography, microstructural characterization, and mechanical testing.

  • Proficiency in additive manufacturing process simulation solutions.
