Job Description:
Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Hotel Services, the incumbent Supervises work activities of Public Space cleaning personnel and cooperates with management team to ensure clean, sanitary, and attractive casino public areas. Assigns duties, inspects work, and investigates complaints regarding service and takes corrective action. Trains employees, monitors supply and equipment use. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Essential Job Functions
- Conducts themselves in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations, and Seminole Tribe of Florida/departmental policies and procedures.
- Promotes positive guest relations at all times.
- Supervises the work activities of cleaning personnel in terms of production, quality control, and service to guests.
- Conducts daily employee line-ups to inform team members of work duties.
- Monitors team members for attendance, proper uniforms, hygiene, etc.
- Issues supplies and equipment.
- Takes inventory of stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Investigates complaints regarding cleaning quality or service to guests, and takes corrective action.
- Inspects public areas to determine need for repairs to fixtures, furnishings, and equipment, and reports same to Facilities department.
- Conducts training of new employees, including in-service training on department policies, work procedures, job safety, and technical information.
- Demonstrates proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- Attends periodic staff meetings to discuss company policies and guest complaints, and makes recommendations to improve service and ensure efficient operation.
- Performs cleaning duties as needed to maintain cleanliness of public areas.
- Screens job applicants, hires new employees, and recommends promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
- Attends training seminars to enhance management and supervisory skills, cleaning techniques and procedures and enhance productivity.
- Maintains records of work assignments, schedules, personnel actions, budgets, time-keeping etc., and prepares periodic reports.
- Manages department budget. Prepares reports of payroll, department expenses, supply usage, and equipment inventories.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, along with a minimum three (3) years management experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, team member is regularly required to stand, walk, and demonstrate high-mobility for a majority of the shift.
- Will also regularly: speak and listen to internal and external customer directions or orders in an atmosphere of varying background noise; transit across surfaces that may alternate between carpeted and hard surfaces; walk through slippery surfaces and/or sloping floors or stairs; use hands to finger, handle or feel small objects such paper or cloth; and reach with hands and arms overhead and from side to side.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision and depth perception. Will often transit between brightly lit and dimly lit areas, including flashing lights and computer or TV screens.
- Position requires bending, lifting and carrying supplies and equipment up to 20 pounds, will be required to use, push and pull wheeled hand-carts or other equipment weighing in excess of 100 lbs.
- Will regularly bend, stoop, kneel, and twist at the waist. May occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids, pet or service animals, and strong odors.
- Will regularly be exposed to tobacco and other second hand smoke.
- May occasionally use de-escalation techniques to resolve customer conflict.
- Will be required to assist in customer evacuation in case of emergency.
