Responsibilities
Lead consulting engagements for government and broader public sector clients across strategy, service delivery transformation, regulatory modernization, program modernization, operating model design, business process improvement, and project/program management
Simultaneously manage multiple active client engagements or workstreams, maintaining delivery quality, budget adherence, and timeline integrity across each; proactively identifying and resolving risks, issues, and competing priorities before escalation
Develop clear, high-quality deliverables including strategic assessments, business cases, briefing materials, governance documents, implementation roadmaps, and executive presentations
Translate ambiguity into structured analysis, recommendations, and actionable plans that drive outcomes for public sector clients
Manage senior client relationships across municipal, provincial, and broader public sector organizations
Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions, executive workshops, interviews, and decision-making forums to support transformation initiatives
Support business development activities including opportunity identification, proposal development, client relationship building, and sector-specific thought leadership
Advise clients on organizational change, process redesign, program implementation, and service improvement in complex stakeholder environments
Translate ambiguity into structured analysis, recommendations, and actionable plans that drive outcomes for public sector clients
Provide day-to-day direction, coaching and mentoring project teams. You will also be responsible for career management, professional development, and supporting employees through Optimus SBR’s Career Development Program (CDP)

Qualifications
5-7 years of management consulting experience, including public sector or government clients; or 7-10 years in government transformation, internal strategy, or public sector leadership roles
Experience delivering projects for municipal, provincial, or broader public sector clients
Experience leading teams and managing senior client stakeholders in complex, fast-paced delivery environments
Experience in one or more of the following: public sector transformation, strategic planning, service modernization, PMO/project delivery, organizational design, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, or change management
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects simultaneously, with strong personal organization, prioritization, and time management skills in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
Familiarity with technology, data, digital transformation, AI and related concepts and trends
Strong understanding of public sector environments, governance structures, and the realities of working with multiple stakeholder groups
Proven ability to turn strategic priorities into practical implementation plans
Strong facilitation and executive communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior leadership
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, writing, and communication skills
Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and values-driven approach to consulting
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) at a consulting standard, personally producing client-ready reports, executive presentations, data visualizations, and quantitative analysis, and setting the quality bar for your team
Bilingualism in English and French is considered a strong asset, though not required
Required Education: Related university degree in a business, health care, or public policy related field
Preferred Education: Post-Graduate degree (e.g.,, MBA, MPA or MPP), professional designation (e.g., CPA, P.Eng.) or other designation (e.g., PMP, Lean, or PROSCI).

Compensation: Salary range is $110,00-$135,000 CAD
Salary ranges are designed to be competitive. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, and experience and is subject to negotiation and subject to the candidate meeting the specific requirements or the role. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the top of the range, and pay can increase quickly for those who make a big impact in the role.
